Dr. Talamini featured in Newsweek article

Dr. Mark Talamini, chairman of surgery at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, was featured in an article in the 14 April 2008 edition of Newsweek magazine. This article describes some of the recent developments and issues related to Natural Orifice Translumenal Endoscopic Surgery (NOTES). Dr. Talamini and a team of physicians at UCSD recently performed an appendectomy using this technique, removing the patient's appendix through his mouth, having accessed the abdominal cavity through a small incision in the stomach using a flexible endoscope. This was the first such operation performed in the United States.

SUCCESS device cleared to market

MAX Endoscopy recently received clearance to market the SUCCESS Cecal Intubation Assist. This device is now being offered for sale in a limited market release. The device offers physicians the opportunity to marginally increase the stiffness of a colonoscope when desired during colonoscopy.

Physician ownership increased

The Company has added four more physicians to its investor base. MAX Endoscopy is a privately held corporation. A significant number of its shareholders are leading gastroenterologists and physicians in other medical specialties.
